The Safety Program Manager plays a key leadership role in developing, implementing, and continuously improving Intren West’s safety programs and culture. This individual ensures that all regional operations comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations while advancing Intren’s vision of “Leading with Safety.” The Safety Program Manager partners closely with field operations, project management, and leadership teams to drive proactive risk management and employee engagement in safety initiatives.
Program Leadership: Design, implement, and manage regional safety programs and initiatives aligned with corporate safety strategy.
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations. Conduct safety audits, job site inspections, and program assessments.
Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans. Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory reporting.
Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training for field and management personnel, including new hire orientation, hazard communication, and task-specific programs.
Culture & Engagement: Foster a proactive safety culture by partnering with operational teams to identify risks, encourage reporting, and recognize safe behaviors.
Data & Reporting: Track safety performance metrics and trends. Provide regular analysis and reports to leadership, recommending improvements where necessary.
Collaboration: Work with client safety representatives, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to maintain strong safety relationships and uphold Intren’s standards.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory updates; recommend new technologies or processes to enhance safety outcomes.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, or related field — or equivalent field experience
5+ years of safety management experience in utility construction, energy, or heavy infrastructure industries
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations
Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
Proven ability to conduct investigations, analyze data, and implement improvements
Preferred:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent certification
Experience working with union and non-union construction environments
Familiarity with safety management software and digital auditing tools
