We are looking for Estiamtors to join our team in Northern California.
The Estimator II is responsible for preparing timely and accurate bid estimates for medium to large-scale projects and programs within an assigned line of business, region, or division. This role supports project planning by ensuring the efficient use of personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors in accordance with contract requirements, schedules, and organizational standards. This person demonstrates a thorough understanding of business components and cost-control practices specific to the construction industry, while maintaining compliance with Intren West Project Management Methodology and upholding company safety and quality protocols.
This position is accountable for the preparation and maintenance of bid documentation and often travels to project sites to verify conditions. The Estimator II leads bid strategy and presentation efforts, monitors awarded contracts for changes in scope, material procurement, credits, and extra work items, and partners with field personnel to develop or recommend change orders.
Additionally, the Estimator II ensures bid deadlines and customer presentation requirements are met while proactively identifying and addressing potential construction challenges to minimize costs and reduce risks. The role also contributes to continuous improvement by advancing estimating methodologies, tools, and practices in alignment with H&M’s project management standards.

Take full responsibility for preparation, maintenance, and accuracy of bid documentation.
Travel regularly to project sites to verify conditions and gather data.

Guide field personnel in developing and managing change orders.
Proactively identify risks, propose solutions, and minimize costs or delays.
Provide leadership in continuous improvement of estimating tools, methodology, and practices.
Communicate with influence, presenting effectively to clients, management, and project teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry, with a focus on medium to large projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning, and cost-control practices.
Proficiency with estimating software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proven ability to develop bid strategies and lead client presentations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take full ownership of estimating processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
